Today, Saturday, the head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, issued 6 directives to the border crossings in Basra.
The authority said in a statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the head of the border crossings authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, chaired a meeting at the Basra International Airport port, in which all the directors of the ports in Basra governorate, assistants, and department managers gathered."
She added, "Al-Waeli issued important directives in order to tighten control over the measures taken, and among the most important of these directives were the following:
1- Commitment to the supervisory oversight role based on the authority's law and government decisions issued in this regard, and follow-up the work of the departments operating at the border crossing, and ensure the safety of all measures taken and not allow passage of Any violation to ensure the prevention of any waste of public money and the follow-up and control of smuggling operations in all its forms.
2- Not to allow the entry of any person who is not legally authorized to be present or to practice commercial work inside the border crossing, and to take legal measures against the violators.
3- Carrying out audits and matching between the positions and statistics submitted by the operating authorities to ensure that the procedures are conducted according to the laws and decisions issued.
4- Follow up the file of exempted goods and emphasize the implementation of Cabinet Resolution 65 of 2022 in all its paragraphs, especially after seizing many fake factories and factories that obtained customs and tax exemption books and used them in violation of the law, with an emphasis on the need for communication, coordination and integration with the Integrity Commission / Investigation Department to hold criminals accountable According to the priorities referred to them by us in the province of Basra.
5- Mobilizing the efforts of the workers at the crossings to make exceptional efforts, and there will be an evaluation of the work of each border crossing, and the crossings that lack specific activities that serve the public interest will be held accountable.
6- Emphasizing on electronic auditing and preventing forgery and manipulation of official documents, and not to tolerate or back down from this approach in combating corruption by checking all documents electronically via the electronic platform in coordination with all departments participating in these programs and submitting periodic reports on the validity of the electronic auditing work.
And she added, "The meeting concluded with a pledge by all those gathered to exert maximum and sincere efforts to serve the country and raise the level of work for the better, in accordance with the government's vision and the specific approach to controlling border crossings." Ended 29 / h.
