Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said Iraq is seeking to issue a clear and explicit decision required the Turkish side to withdraw its troops from Iraqi soil.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry said “al-Hakim discussed with the president of the Security Council for the month of February, the representative of Venezuela, Ramirez Carreño at the headquarters of the UN Security Council in New York,” saying that “Iraq submitted a complaint to the Security Council on the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by the Turkish troops stationed at Camp Ba’shiqah.”
The statement noted that “the two sides also reviewed the Internationalist aid for Iraqi displaced, who have been affected by the terrorist attacks of the criminal gangs of Daash. / End
