    Baghdad] Today _ Erbil
Today, Tuesday (June 4, 2024), the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Briar Rashid, considered that the rapid approval of the budget schedules for the year 2024 indicates general satisfaction and is an important step to resolve the differences between Baghdad and Erbil.
Rashid said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “approving the budget is a first and important step that came at its time to resolve the existing differences between Baghdad and Erbil.”
He added, "The speedy approval of the schedules confirms the general state of satisfaction, and we hope that it will contribute to resolving the existing differences between the region and the center, the most important of which is sending employee salaries on a regular basis, and the regional government's commitment to implementing all provisions."
The budget amounts to 211 trillion dinars, including more than 20 trillion dinars for the Kurdistan region in salaries and capital investment allocations.
Kurdistan's oil became out of the hands of the regional government and turned into a ball between Baghdad and foreign companies operating in the region. As for non-oil revenues, the Kurdistan government began depositing the federal budget's share of the region's revenues in the state treasury.
