Representative Ali Nehme confirmed today, Monday (June 3, 2024), that ensuring the stability of the financial situation, securing benefits, financing projects, and reducing any financial deficit are among the priorities of the 2024 budget, while he stated that all salaries are insured.
Nimah said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the House of Representatives will receive today the final report of the Parliamentary Finance Committee on the 2024 budget schedules before voting on it,” noting that “all salaries are insured with the completion of sufficient financial balances for the continuity of projects in all governorates.”
He added, "Discussions will take place after receiving the final budget report," stressing "the effort to do justice to all governorates in the 2024 budget tables."
He pointed out that “the priorities of the 2024 budget are to ensure the stability of the financial situation, secure entitlements, finance projects, and reduce any financial deficit,” explaining that “the budget has a high ceiling and needs to be secured in order to invest money in important files.”
The House of Representatives had set Monday as a date to vote on the budget schedules, while some representatives considered that the date was not achievable, as disagreements continued over some agenda items.
