Data from the National Bureau of Statistics in France published yesterday showed that the country's unemployment rate rose to 10% in the third quarter of the year, compared with 9.9% in the previous quarter.
The increase - the first since the third quarter of last year - a blow to French President Francois Hollande six months of the presidential election, which he said he would not be fought unless the unemployment situation on a steady downward path before.
The unemployment rate rose in France, with the exception of sea areas beyond by 0.1 points to 9.7 %.
The highest historic rate of unemployment in France, 11.2% in the first quarter and the second and third of 1997, while the lowest rate at 7.5% in the first quarter of 2008.
