EU launches a unified system to monitor and record the entry and exit through the external borders.
The European Commission said in a statement on Monday that the new surveillance system will record information about the entry of nationals of non-member States of the European Union into its territory and out of them when crossing the external borders of the Union.
According to Brussels, it will allow the adoption of the system to improve the level of control on short-term legal trips undertaken by citizens from third countries to the territory of the Union and will contribute to the modernization of the external borders of the Union in general management procedures.
According to the statement: "entry and exit with the new European electronic information system and permits travel system (Etias) will help to strengthen the external and internal security border control."
