Turkish army staff gives Iraqi troops participation in the exercises "shields discretion"

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi Defense Ministry announced on Friday that the Turkish army has given the Iraqi troops with military shields on the border between the two countries.
The ministry said in a statement received by Iraq News that "the result of the direct supervision and follow-up by the Director of Military Intelligence to replace the 1st Battalion - Task Force - Directorate of those who participated in the joint exercises between the Iraqi and Turkish forces that took place on the border between the two countries from Dated 25/9/2017 until 30/10/2017 ".
She added that "the fighters of the Directorate of Military Intelligence officers and ranks of the first task battalion all the appreciation and respect from the Turkish side, who expressed great admiration for the spirit of combat and moral high enjoyed by the regiment in the exercises and appreciation of the great courage and high discipline and exemplary that they have shown," noting that " The General Staff of the Turkish Army gave all the officers and personnel of the 1st Task Force - Al-Mahat Brigade - the director of the Military Intelligence Directorate the Armored Corps. "
"The commander of the second Turkish army, the team, is fully equipped with shields for officers and associates," she said, hoping that "these maneuvers will be the beginning of fruitful cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields, especially security and military."
It is noteworthy that this is the first time that the Turkish Army General Staff has granted such shields since 2003
