Dagestan: Thousands of Russian citizens are still in Iraq and Syria[/size]

The Dagestan authorities said on Saturday that thousands of Russian citizens are still in Iraq and Syria, including in areas under the control of the militants of a sympathetic organization.
"There are no exact figures on the number of Russians in Iraq and Syria, but the approximate figures indicate that their numbers are in the thousands," the agency said.
She added that there is information indicating many of them moved to neighboring Arab countries, explaining that it received 840 requests from their relatives in Iraq and Syria.
About 100 women and children have returned from Iraq and Syria, with the help of the Chechen authorities, to Dagestan, Ingushetia, Bashkiria, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
