    The mullahs state that more than 90 per cent of Iranian prisoners in the Gulf States are involved in drug trafficking, while Iranians in Kuwait and Iraq are accused of illegal entry into the country. 

     
    "The presence of more than two thousand and 900 Iranians serving their sentences in prisons outside Iran," said Hussein binahi Azhar, assistant secretary of state for Iranian consular affairs.

     
    The Iranian deputy foreign minister said the news on the sidelines of the return of 17 Iranian sailors who were imprisoned in Somalia because of illegal entry into Somali waters since last September and were sentenced to two years in prison and a fine in a local court in Somalia.

     
    The statement by Assistant Foreign Minister for Iranian Consular Affairs confirms Iran's efforts to spread drugs in the Gulf states.
