The coalition of "national" led by Iyad Allawi on Saturday that the leader gave names to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to choose one of them for the post of defense minister.
The coalition said in a statement today that it wished to "show the public that Allawi gave Abdul Mahdi a group of names on behalf of the Alliance of Reform and Reconstruction to serve as Minister of Defense."
The coalition in his statement that "Allawi resolved the nomination file and submitted the names and there is no room for the nomination of new names, it completely denies his knowledge of the names promoted by some means, including Major General Mohammed al-Ani, which was not among the names nominated by Allawi to fill the position."
