Economist: The growing phenomenon of importing foreign labor to Iraq will sign a major international financial commitments

BAGHDAD / NINA / An economic expert, Head of Economic Studies at the University of Kufa, Raad Twigg said that the import of foreign labor will reflect negatively on the Iraqi economy.
Twigg said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency/ NINA / that he has observed in the recent period the emergence of the phenomenon of the increasing use of foreign labor in restaurants and hotels, at a time the unemployment rates in Iraq rose to more than 15% .
He added that the appearance of the phenomenon of foreign workers in the labor market of Iraq, will arrange international financial commitments to Iraq.
He outlined that they are in a time that they demand the foreign investor to operate a number of Iraqis in his investment project, according to the Investment Law No. (13) , they find that local investors are importing cheap foreign labor to them, which will be expensive on the Iraqi economy after the expansion of this phenomenon, demanding, Investment Authority, to follow-up this matter . / End
