Abdul Mahdi to Saudi Arabia for a truce initiative between Riyadh and Tehran

Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi left for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a visit officially announced late on Tuesday.
During his second visit to Riyadh since assuming the premiership of Iraq, Abdul-Mahdi is scheduled to meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, amid information obtained by the "new Arab" indicating that ministers and officials of Iraqi security and intelligence will accompany him .
"The visit comes to discuss relations between the two brotherly countries, regional situations and truce efforts, and Iraq's unwavering stance to play its positive role in taking care of avoiding the danger of tensions and conflicts and establishing the best relations with all neighboring, brotherly and friendly countries," the statement said.
