The former Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, on Monday, the former official has 700 security elements to protect him and another has 600 security elements.
"The number of special protections for Iraqi officials was 11,000 security personnel," he said.
He added: "I remember that one official has 700 security personnel to protect him, and another has between 500 to 600 security elements to protect him as well, and most of these protections are equipped with weapons, armor and food."
Abadi continued: "I stopped it to fight corruption, which caused me political problems, where I was very popular in the House of Representatives at the time, and I was greeted with applause when I went to the Council."
"But then he became more deputies, they are enemies of me, and the most debate I was arguing with them, is their privileges and protections, so that some parliamentarians, justify that it may accrue to a high salary, and the reduction of salary may harm him, but it is not in my hands, because these Citizen's wealth, and we have to act out properly. "
Abadi said: "I imagine that we have made tremendous reforms, and I know that the current government has formed a committee on the salaries of officials, to return it as before, as a result of certain political pressure."
