Shafaq News/ The Coordinator of International Recommendations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dindar Zebari, reported on Sunday that hundreds of companies have been closed and suspended, while others have been referred for investigation on charges related to human trafficking crimes.
This came in a speech he delivered during the launch of the second conference of the National Plan for Human Rights in Iraq, which was held by the Iraqi Ministry of Justice in Baghdad under the slogan (The State of Man is Our Goal), coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Zebari said in his speech that: The file of combating human trafficking received appropriate attention from the Kurdistan Regional Government, as 138 cases were investigated, including: forced labor, trafficking in human organs, trafficking in children, human smuggling, and using people for begging.
He pointed out that 432 companies were punished, closed and suspended from work, nearly 1,000 others were placed under surveillance, and more than 500 companies are under investigation.
