    On the sidelines of the ceremony for concluding a memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi Integrity Commission and the National Anti-Corruption Commission in the Lebanese Republic, Haider Hanoun stressed, according to a statement received by Al-Sumaria News, that international cooperation blocks the way for the most corrupt to escape justice, stressing that the Iraqi Integrity Commission supports the National Commission.     For his part, Claude Karam, head of the Lebanese National Anti-Corruption Commission, expressed his optimism in developing the relationship between his body and the Iraqi Integrity Commission, expressing his hope that this relationship will be crowned by benefiting from the Iraqi experience in combating and preventing corruption, and in the field of consolidating the values ​​and ethics of integrity in public service. Pointing to some of the crises and challenges facing Lebanon and the reasons that forced the Lebanese state to create the National Anti-Corruption Authority two years ago, enact the anti-corruption law, and Lebanon’s efforts in the areas of preventing and preventing corruption, and combating it through investigation and investigation procedures into corruption files.

    The memorandum of understanding, which was signed by the two parties, aims to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange visions, policies, experiences and studies regarding comprehensive measures and strategies taken to prevent and combat corruption, follow up on requests for legal assistance and procedures for extraditing those wanted in corruption cases and recovering stolen funds and their proceeds obtained from corruption crimes, with the competent national authorities. In addition to exchanging available information about those accused, convicted, and wanted in corruption cases, and their movable and immovable assets. In order to facilitate and expedite the procedures for executing these requests.

    The articles and terms of the agreement included the exchange of technical visits and the establishment of advanced training programs. To develop the skills of employees and raise the level of their performance, and to benefit from the experiences and expertise of both parties, especially in the areas of investigation, investigation and monitoring of cases of corruption and the recovery of funds according to agreed upon mechanisms, and the exchange of techniques, information and scientific sources in the field of scientific research and postgraduate studies related to the fields of preventing and combating corruption, and holding seminars. conferences and research exchanges; In order to disseminate knowledge of means and methods of preventing corruption and consolidating the elements of integrity and transparency.
