Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani stressed the government’s support for the construction industries, pointing out that three residential cities will begin work within two months, while stressing the need to make More efforts were made to complete the Shaabaniya visit ceremony. He directed to take notes and proposals regarding plans to develop and expand Baghdad International Airport.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani attended a workshop held in the capital, Baghdad, aimed at supporting the national industry, especially the construction industries, in conjunction with the start of work in the new residential cities.
Al-Sudani stressed, in his speech during the workshop, the government’s seriousness in supporting the private sector and addressing the problems that obstruct its work through the Council of Ministers and the Ministerial Council for the Economy, pointing out that the country is suffering from a real housing crisis that made us move towards the housing sector, which is one of the most prominent sectors that generate Job opportunities certified by international organizations, in up to 89 professions, driven by this important sector.
He stated that Iraq faces a real opportunity to create a vast national industry to secure construction materials, especially since Iraq possesses primary resources, and there is an urgent need for these materials, pointing to the Al-Jawahiri City, which has completed all the conditions for its implementation without any obstacles or problems, and includes the construction of more than 30 thousand A residential unit, which means it needs a lot of construction materials.
Al-Sudani also explained that the legal team is now working on completing the granting of the license for the city of Ali al-Wardi, which includes 120,000 housing units. Al-Sudani said: This is an important opportunity for the private industrial sector to provide the construction materials needed by new residential cities, and we must start from an actual success story, and the government is ready to remove any problem or obstacle facing investors, stressing that we want investors to establish factories to provide the materials that go into construction. He pointed out that the government moved forcefully on the energy sector; Because of the gas burned and the need for money and energy, we have set a timetable to finish burning gas within a period not exceeding 5 years, pointing out that we have reached self-sufficiency through our movement on refineries, and during this year we will stop importing petroleum derivatives, and we will achieve a surplus that we will use to operate factories.
He continued: We have begun to reform the financial and banking system, and we want the banks to contribute to accelerating development, noting that we are working to rehabilitate local banks, and there are Arab and foreign banks that will enter the Iraqi market to contribute to financing.
He stressed that Iraq today needs 43 thousand irrigation systems, and we want Iraqi industrialists to establish production lines to manufacture these systems.
