The Central Bank confirmed today, Saturday, that the housing loan initiative is continuing and has not stopped.
Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Ammar Hamad Khalaf, told the official agency, followed by “Al-Eqtisad News”: “The initiative of the Central Bank of Iraq regarding housing loans continues and has not stopped,” pointing out that “the funds allocated for this type of loans are specific and according to monetary policy directions.”
He added, "This type of loan is granted through the Real Estate Bank for the purpose of purchasing housing units, and through the Iraqi Housing Fund for the purpose of building housing units."
