Shafaq News/ Advisor to the Prime Minister, Walid Al-Hilli, revealed on Thursday that the government plans to build ten thousand schools throughout Iraq as quickly as possible, equipping them with the latest electronic devices.

Al-Hilli told Shafaq News Agency, "The government's strategic planning includes building more than 10,000 schools in Baghdad and all governorates as soon as possible, while the process of building schools continues according to the increase in the population percentage in the country."

He added, "The government has diagnosed that there is a major problem with school buildings and that they are not at the required level. Therefore, schools must be reconstructed and new schools must be built in accordance with modern scientific and technological development with the availability of electronic devices for school laboratories."

He pointed out that "the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani is serious about completing the schools file and developing the education system in Iraq. The government has completed the construction of many schools, and the construction rate is constantly increasing according to the Prime Minister's directives to keep pace with global developments."

It is noteworthy that Iraq is suffering from a major crisis in the number of school buildings in Baghdad and the governorates, as many schools have double and triple shifts due to the large number of students and the lack of schools.
