Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MPs of Ahrar bloc announced giving up their retirement salaries.
The head of the bloc, Bahaa al-Araji, stated in a press conference on Tuesday attended by IraqiNews.com reporter “Members of Ahrar bloc abandoned their right of retirement salaries as a commitment towards the Iraqis rather than electoral propagandas.”
“In case the parliament will not endorse the law of canceling the retirement salaries of MPs, then we will adhere to our decision in giving up our retirement salaries in response to the public demands as the bloc agreed upon during a secret and exceptional meeting,” he added.
“We want to be honest before our people so we proved that through an official document over our decision presented to the notary of Kadhimiya area,” he concluded.
