Khoshkan village in the Ballakayate region about 90 kilometers northeast of the Kurdistan Region's capital of Erbil.
The mountainous border area was heavily mined during the Iran-Iraq war.
Rasul asked to receive a piece of mined land, so he could clear it and use it for agriculture.
In southern Kurdistan, mines and explosives are traded. This is another reason why Rasul and tens of others have been engaged with mine disposal.
