Iran presses Kurds to stop referendum, sources

Arbil/ Iraq TradeLink: The Public Relations Responsible of the Iranian Kurdish Democratic Party Mohammed Saleh Qadiri described the recent Iranian bombardments and cutting off the water from the Iraqi Kurdish region is "just an Iranian attempt to press Kurdistan to withdraw from the independence referendum".

He expected that the "pressures" will be increased as long as the referendum nears by.

"The Iranian attacks on the Kurdish boundaries is not new, but old under the pretext of the presence of anti-Iranian Kurdish elements are harbored there", he pointed out.

"The Iranian Kurds did not practice any military operation from the Kurdish region, but our actions are done inside the Iranian territories", he elaborated.

Qadiri stressed that the struggle of the Iranian Kurds has "no relation with the Iraqi Kurdish region".

"It is an internal affair and the Iranian authorities have to take steps to drastically solve the Kurdish question", he confirmed.
