     Hundreds of Saudis left the town of Awamiya, east of the kingdom, on Tuesday evening, where Saudi security forces are battling militants.
    The clashes between the security forces and militants in recent days in the city of Awamiyah in Qatif province, saying that the security forces evacuated the population from the city, on Saturday and Sunday, through several ways, and witnessed the security points of the exit of large numbers of families.
    The governor of the Eastern Province, Saud bin Nayef, ordered the sending of these families to the province of Qatif and provide assistance to them. The governor-designate, Falah al-Khalidi, said that the Eastern Province received requests from residents and farmers in Awamiya to help them get out of the clashes, Stressing the transfer of dozens of parents and families from the neighborhood will be temporarily until the removal of the evictions of lawbreakers inside the neighborhood of the walled. "
     He explained that the residents welcomed the initiative of the governor to block terrorists who took advantage of the abandoned buildings to shelter illegal acts, arms trade and drug trafficking.
    The local residents of Awamiya said that life in the town was unbearable due to frequent water and electricity cuts at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, Reuters reported.
    Reuters quoted local activists as saying that Saudi forces had facilitated the exit of individuals fleeing the clashes, which killed at least seven people, including two policemen, confirming that dozens of families had obtained temporary accommodation in a nearby town.
    Meanwhile, state television said Saudi authorities had called on displaced people to go to the provincial headquarters to seek temporary housing or receive compensation for homes they had to leave.
    Awamiya, part of the oil-producing province of Qatif, has been plagued by armed unrest and attacks from time to time by gunmen against security forces since the Arab Spring protests in 2011. Saudi authorities have been trying since May to demolish the old neighborhood in the town to prevent militants from using it in their attacks.
