     Baghdad / Sky Press:

Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah arrived in the Qatari capital Doha on Thursday for an unannounced visit.

The official Qatari news agency said that he was received by the Foreign Minister of Kuwait upon arrival at Doha International Airport, his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.

The visit comes three days after the visit of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Riyadh and his talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on "close brotherly relations and the overall events in the region."

The visit of the Emir of Kuwait to Riyadh and his foreign minister to Qatar comes two months after the last Kuwaiti move "announced" in the framework of mediation to resolve the Gulf crisis.

The Emir of Kuwait has been leading mediation efforts to resolve the ongoing crisis since June 5 when Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Qatar and imposed punitive measures on the grounds of "supporting terrorism."

For its part, Doha denied the charges against it, saying it faced a campaign of "fabrications" and "lies" aimed at imposing "tutelage" on its national decision.

The latest Kuwaiti move was announced as part of mediation to resolve the Gulf crisis in the first half of last August when the Emir of Kuwait sent letters to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait, who were said to be carrying a new initiative to resolve the crisis.
