US court puts Trump campaign leader under house arrest
The second court judge set November 2 as the date for the second session to hear Manavort and his aide in the charges against them in the investigation into the alleged Russian intervention in the 2016 US presidential election.
Both Manavort and Gates rejected charges against them during the day's hearing of conspiring against the United States, laundering money and failing to make accounts abroad, after surrendering themselves to the authorities earlier in the day.
A White House spokeswoman said the indictment against the two men had nothing to do with Trump or his campaign and showed no evidence of complicity between the campaign and Russia.
"Today's announcement has nothing to do with the president and has nothing to do with the president's campaign or activity," spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a press release. "We say from the first day that there is no evidence of complicity between Russia and Trump and nothing in the indictment today changes that at all."

Paul Manavort, the former campaign manager for President Donald Trump, was put under house arrest by a federal court after he and his assistant, Rick Gates, appeared before a federal appeals court in Washington.The second court judge set November 2 as the date for the second session to hear Manavort and his aide in the charges against them in the investigation into the alleged Russian intervention in the 2016 US presidential election.
