Airbus is close to signing a landmark deal with a US investment firm to supply 430 A320s , according to Bloomberg.
The deal is the largest in aviation history and would give Airbus the upper hand at the Dubai Air Show, after it was behind Boeing. The deal is also a major achievement for Airbus sales manager John Leahy, who will retire after decades of working at the company.
The agency quoted informed sources on Wednesday that the value of the deal is $ 40 billion, and will buy the American company aircraft " A320 " and " A320 neo ." The company declined to comment on the information, with the order being announced later Wednesday at the Dubai Air Show.
Bloomberg said the buyer, an investment company called Indigo Partners, would offer the aircraft to various low-cost carriers from Denver to Budapest, Hungary.
The A320 is a short- and medium-range aircraft designed to rival the Boeing 737 with its outstanding technical characteristics and is one of the best-selling aircraft.
The A320 has a speed of 890 kilometers per hour and has 150 seats and can hold up to 180 passengers in pressure.
