President Donald Trump hailed the supremacy of US weapons globally, adding that he is trying to ensure that US-supplied weapons are not as good as those of the US military.
"I always say, let our weapons be a little better," Trump said during his visit to the Florida Coast Guard headquarters for Thanksgiving. "We'll have about 10 percent of our excellence in our pack."
He said that the sale of weapons to allies should not change in this equation, which is keen to abide by them, adding, "can not be sure of the ally." The ally can turn.
"Nobody owns the equipment we have," Trump said.
One of the weapons the president expressed was his admiration for the F-35 stealth fighter jet, which was designed to evade detection by radars and other monitoring devices.
Speaking in televised contact with US forces around the world such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey and Bahrain, Trump said US forces were succeeding under his administration.
He added that progress in recent months in Afghanistan and in the fight against an oppressive organization was more than that achieved during the years of the previous administration, which, in his opinion, did not allow troops on the ground to do their work.
