    [rtl]MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia began forming a permanent force on Tuesday in the Syrian capital of Tartous and Hameimim,.[/rtl]
    [rtl]"The commander-in-chief of the Russian armed forces last week confirmed the structure and strength of the cadres of the two main bases in Tartous and Hameimim," Shweigo told a Defense Ministry meeting. "The military operation in Syria to fight terrorists is one of the main tasks of the forces, Armed Forces in 2017"He said.[/rtl]
    [rtl]For his part, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Defense, Andrei Karasov told Interfax that "Russia is strengthening its presence in the Middle East," adding that "the Tartous base is a stronghold expands the capabilities of our fleet, and our fleet will have a permanent presence in the Mediterranean"He said.[/rtl]
    [rtl]It should be noted that a group of Russian warships operating in the Mediterranean, including about 10 ships and submarines, including those that fired missiles at the sites of terrorists in Syria.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Russian Federation Council ratified on Tuesday a law on the conclusion of an agreement with Syria on the expansion of the Russian base at the Syrian port of Hameim.[/rtl]
