The Arab foreign ministers on Thursday adopted the Palestinian statement on Jerusalem, insisting on sticking to peace as a strategic option according to the Arab initiative.
The final communiqué of the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers adopted the Palestinian draft resolution on Jerusalem.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in his capacity as chairman of the Follow-up and Action Committee against the US decision on Jerusalem, stressed that pressure is being exerted on the international community to recognize the independent Palestinian state.
The Arab foreign ministers said in a statement issued after their meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo that they reiterated their rejection of the decision of US President Donald Trump "for violating the rules of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy."
They added that the Arab countries will work with international actors to "establish a multilateral international mechanism under the auspices of the United Nations to sponsor the peace process, including convening an international conference to relaunch a credible and time-bound peace process."
The Palestinian Authority said following Trump's decision that it no longer recognized the United States as a peace broker.

The draft resolution calls for working with international actors to establish a multilateral international mechanism under the auspices of the United Nations to take care of the peace process.
The resolution also calls for holding an international conference to relaunch a credible and time-bound peace process based on international resolutions and the principle of land for peace and the two-state solution on June 4, 1967. It
affirms the adoption and support of the State of Palestine for full membership in the United Nations, To mobilize international support for this trend, and to mandate the Arab Group in New York to do what is necessary in this regard.
The draft resolution reaffirms the rejection of any resolution recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli Occupying Power and the transfer of diplomatic missions to it for violating international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
The draft resolution stipulates the right of the Palestinian people to exercise all forms of struggle against the Israeli occupation in accordance with the provisions of international law, including popular resistance and harnessing the potential Arab energies to support them.
The draft resolution rejects and condemns attempts to end the role and mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) through systematic Israeli campaigns against them.
