    The Council of the Arab League will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday at the level of foreign ministers to crystallize the final Arab response to US President Donald Trump's decision on December 6 to recognize occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and transfer its embassy.
    The meeting will be chaired by the Foreign Minister of Djibouti, Mahmoud Ali Yousuf, whose country presided over the current session of the League Council in the presence of Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General. The Arab Ministerial will be preceded by an emergency meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative From this afternoon, during which consultations will be held on the main features of the draft resolution that will be presented to the foreign ministers in preparation for its final adoption.
    The committee includes Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco and Yemen, as well as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
    A closed-door meeting of foreign ministers will be held after the opening session in which Djibouti's foreign minister will deliver a brief speech followed by a speech by Aboul Gheit describing what the Arab League has done since the emergency ministerial meeting held on December 9, and a number of foreign ministers.
