The Iraqi Reform Department of the Ministry of Justice announced on Tuesday the release of 592 inmates during the past month, including 162 inmates covered by the amnesty.
The ministry said in a statement received by "Baghdad Post" a copy of it, "The total number of released from the prisons of the Ministry during the last month amounted to 592 prisoners from the prisons of the ministry in Baghdad and the provinces, including 57 women and 535 men."
She added that "the reform department has made great strides in the area of release operations with the implementation of the electronic archiving system, which allows the possibility of determining the end of their sentences and contribute to the resolution of their files according to the legal period set for release."
