(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) United Nations Secretary-General Altonio Guterres said that the convening of the donor conference in Kuwait is an amazing evidence of confidence in the government and the people of Iraq.
"Kuwait is taking the lead in holding this conference in cooperation with the Iraqi people, but its response to this conference and appeals is an astounding evidence of confidence in the government and the people of Iraq," Guterres said in a joint press conference at the end of the Kuwait International Conference on Iraq Reconstruction.
"The international community has shown gratitude for the courage shown by the Iraqi people through the defeat of gangs, which encourages terrorism and protects itself and all of us," he said.
"This is the security conditions and conditions for the Government of Iraq to be able to successfully implement the slogan of the state and to ensure conditions for the international community to give support to the Iraqi people."
