The Islamic Party: powerful forces pushed us to withdraw from the elections
Secretary-General of the Islamic Party of Iraq Iyad Samarrai said that influential forces within the Alliance of National Forces insisted on entering separately and contributed to weakening the general position of participation in the elections.
"We have entered into an important alliance, the Iraqi National Forces Alliance, and we wanted that coalition to be an electoral force with a clear program. We pushed strongly towards that. We called on the coalition to form a single electoral list and to engage in serious dialogue with other political forces, Gives the coalition power to adopt its ideas and demands, but those powerful forces asked for individual participation.
