Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday that the three guarantor countries - Russia, Turkey and Iran - have affirmed their commitment to Syrian unity.
"The three guarantor countries agreed to support Syrian unity and work towards a political settlement," Lavrov said at a press conference held by ministers of Iran, Turkey and Russia.
He added that "the Guarantor States affirmed the guarantee of the settlement process, which will be given to the Syrians themselves without interference from those countries in exchange for our support to all the Syrian parties in order to achieve peace and end the Syrian crisis."
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said during the press conference that "the Syrian crisis is only for political action," he said. "We ask the guarantor countries to abide by the terms of the joint statement calling for resolving the crisis through political means." Finished 25 m
