Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Fumio Iwai arrived in Dhi Qar province on Sunday to participate in the opening of the East Gharraf pumping station.
A local source said in a press statement that the station was rehabilitated after being affected by the military operations in 2003 of the Japanese loan at a cost of nearly 6 million dollars, which was rehabilitated under the supervision of the Japanese JICA and a lifting card of 8 meters per second.
