The local government in Muthanna announced on Tuesday the immediate implementation of a seven-kilometer irrigation channel running through floating pumps to feed the Euphrates River from the Euphrates as one of the emergency projects to prevent water scarcity in a number of northern areas of the province.
The Governor, Falih Al-Ziyadi, said in a press statement that the project was approved by the Ministry of Water Resources to serve the areas that depend on the Al-Atashan River. He added that the other measures taken by the Directorate of Water Resources in the governorate to address the water crisis in Warka district, To feed pump stations.
The completion of this plant will eliminate the water shortage in the judiciary, which suffered a crisis during the last period.
