Sources revealed that the reasons for the temporary closure of the Shalamjah border crossing between Iraq and Iran, due to the entry of a number of militia mullahs forged visas to Iraq.

The sources, who declined to give details, said that the number of people arrested yesterday reached 21 Iranians in Shalamjah and 31 others at the al-Shaib port, as well as a number of Iranian visitors at the Mehran crossing, saying they had forged visas to enter the country and carry out sabotage operations.

On March 19, 2018, the Border Crossings Authority announced the transfer of 21 Iranian passengers with false visas through the Shalamjah port east of Basra to the judiciary.
