BAGHDAD / A spokesman for the tribes of the province of Ibrahim al-Dulaimi, on Sunday, the amnesty issued against 14 people, including elders and tribal leaders in Anbar, caused great embarrassment to the families of martyrs of terrorism and the wounded.
Al-Dulaimi said that "national reconciliation is a must, and it must be done, especially with the parties that have tried to ally with the terrorists, at a time when it was not a ploy to survive non-alliance," noting that "the pardon that Issued by the National Security Directorate, to stop the prosecution of 14 people, including elders and tribal leaders, embarrassed the families of martyrs who were waiting to hold terrorists accountable. "
He added that "some of those who have been forgiven, they took up arms and fought against the security forces, and these must be held accountable and not be left without punishment," noting that "allow is for those who were forced to deal with terrorism, only."
"The government must investigate the issue of the detention of hundreds of innocent people because of their similarity, and not leave the terrorists without account," he said.
A document obtained by "Eye of Iraq News" last week showed that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi approved the recommendations of the National Reconciliation Cell, including welcoming the return of 14 people, including sheikhs, to their areas and standing by their side and encouraging them to contribute to supporting and establishing security and community.
The document also showed 14 names of elders and people from the western provinces. Finished
