Iraq is studying the modernization of licenses to import chemicals

BAGHDAD / The Iraqi Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday that the Iraqi Exhibitions Company held a meeting to modernize and amend the mechanism and controls for the issuance of import licenses for chemicals.
"The Iraqi General Company for Trade and Trade Services held a meeting under the chairmanship of the director of the import department of the company, including representatives of the concerned security services and representatives of the Ministries of Environment and Health, Agriculture, Industry and Minerals, Oil, Planning, Science and Technology, To discuss the modernization and amendment of the mechanism and regulations for the issuance of import licenses for chemicals and dual and dangerous and follow-up end-user.
The statement quoted the director general of the company Hashim Mohammad Hatem as saying that "the purpose of this meeting is to stand on the views and observations put forward by representatives of those ministries and security agencies and the problems and obstacles they face in implementing the instructions received from the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Commerce is represented by the General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services and in cooperation with all sectoral and security agencies and under the direct supervision of the National Security Advisor. This mechanism has been prepared as the coordinating body for this file. Our company has the honor to fill this file in coordination with the National Center for Joint Planning.
