Iran is grinding one million tons of Russian wheat per yea
The head of the Agriculture, Water and Food Industries Committee of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said that the transit of Russian wheat to Iraq through Iran is one of the consensuses between the two countries.
"According to the agreement, Russian wheat will be exported to Iraqi markets after being converted to flour in Iran," Kawa Zergeran told IRNA news agency.
"Under this agreement, it is expected that one million tons of Russian wheat will be exported annually," he said.
On February 17, Zergeran announced that he had negotiated an agreement with Russia to import wheat, allowing it to increase flour exports to neighboring Iraq.
"The deal includes the import of about 100,000 tons of Russian wheat per month to private mills that will produce flour for export," Zirkaran told the Iranian news websites.
"The talks are under way and we expect the agreement to be finalized within two months," he said.
