The al-Houthi militia on Saturday recognized the killing of Sheikh Akram Hassan Hamoud Ghathaya, a senior field commander in the West Coast Front, as part of the Yemeni government's military operations with the support of the Arab Alliance.

According to Yemeni sources, Akram Ghathaya is the son of Sheikh Maran Hassan Hamoud Ghathaya, who has contributed significantly since the 1980s to the founding of the Houthi group and support of its Iranian-supported ideologue. He was also the field commander for the defense of the Maran area during the wars between the state and the Houthis (2004-2009) .

She pointed out that Akram Ghathaya is one of the leaders on which the Huthi leader is based on recruitment and was sent to reinforce the West Coast Front, which is witnessing accelerated collapses, before being killed along with his companions. He confirmed that he was the second son of Sheikh Hassan Ghathaya, Months after the death of his brother called "Nasrallah".
