    An informed source confirmed that the ports of Basra have recently witnessed a pile of containers of goods entering the country, because of new procedures imposed by the Border Ports Authority on the merchants and importers who refused to deal with them, which led to the non-clearance of customs contents.
     
    The spokesman of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Anmar Al-Safi, said Tuesday that "the Ports Authority imposed a full customs tariff, which was not in effect earlier, which led to doubling the amounts and procedures required of traders and owners of import companies, who refused to interact with The new decision, which led to the accumulation of containers and goods in the ports of the province of Basra.
     
    He added that the net, "The port of Umm Qasr North is the most affected ports in this aspect, being the most prominent in the process of exchange of goods," noting that customs agents refused to cooperate with the port company in the emptying of stores and ships, and left the matter to the concerned parties to do its work and restore the flow to the movement Port.
