Five European countries agree to receive immigrants

The European Commission announced that five countries in the European Union agreed to receive the 141 migrants who were aboard the vessel "Aquarius".
The Malta government said it would allow the ship to enter one of its ports, noting that the migrants who were rescued off the Libyan coast last week, will be received by France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.
EU Commissioner for Migration Demetris Aframopoulos stressed that the EU needs a long-term solution to the issue of migrants. "This is not the responsibility of one or several member states of the European Union, but of the entire Union," he said.
Italy and Malta have refused to welcome the ship at its ports, usually refusing to receive ships run by non-governmental organizations to help migrants.
This is not the first time that Italy has refused to receive the Aquarius. The first case in June caused diplomatic tensions between Italy and France.
