The US authorities at Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania, placed emergency passengers and their crew for medical examination after flu-like symptoms appeared on 12 passengers on board the planes.
"All 250 passengers on two separate flights belonging to American Airlines coming from Munich and Paris were detained for a medical examination," airport spokeswoman Diane Grace said Friday, quoting airport spokeswoman Diane Grace. As a precautionary measure.
The spokeswoman said that flight 717 coming from Munich and flight 755 from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, arrived in Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon.
Spokesman for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Benjamin Haines, said the centers had collaborated with Philadelphia health officials, emergency workers, customs officers and border guards to examine passengers who had symptoms of influenza and other respiratory diseases.
"Twelve passengers on board were wounded with a sore throat and cough, none of whom had a fever."No passengers were seriously ill and they will leave and we will inform them of the results within 24 hours."
He said the other passengers aboard the planes were allowed to leave, adding that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would provide more information after the results of the test.
A spokeswoman for American Airlines, Leslie Scott, confirmed that no one was aboard the aircraft in quarantine, noting that the crew members of the aircraft did not contact the medical crews before landing to report the injury of any passenger with fatigue.
