    The Ministry of Finance announced the launch of 229 billion dinars to address the water shortage in the province of Basra.
    The ministry said in a statement received by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday that 229 billion dinars for the province of Basra revenues from the border crossings for the purpose of implementing the work related to the water sector in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Haider Abadi to address the problem of water scarcity in the province.
    The ministry added that "the Ministry of Finance continues to follow up and coordination with the task force assigned by the Prime Minister for the purpose of allocating and financing the necessary funds to solve the problems of Basra province and improve services for citizens visual."
    The ministry pointed out that "earlier this year, it launched more than 272 billion dinars for the province of Basra, and was distributed to the investment and operational expenses as the province was funded investment expenditures more than 161 billion dinars, including 121 billion dinars within the annual allocations for projects within the investment budget, And more than 3 billion dinars within the allocations of the province of petrodollars, and more than 25 billion dinars within the program for the development of regions, and the amount of 3 billion dinars of emergency reserves of petrodollar projects allocated to the water project of Umm Qasr, as well as the province funding 9 billion dinars within the program of development regions Which concerns the educational sector. "
    And followed the financial, "As for the operational expenses was funded by the province more than 110 billion dinars, 107 of which were transferred from petrodollar allocations to the province, and 3 billion dinars within the operational expenses of the Directorate of water Basra to cover the rehabilitation of water projects currently operating in the province," noting that "The total amounts funded by the province within the budget of 2018 amounted to more than 500 billion dinars."
