) - US Senator Rand Powell has called for an end to arms sales to Saudi Arabia if Saudi Arabia's journalist Jamal Khashoggi is to be held responsible .

"We have to stop selling arms to them if they are responsible for it, or even if there are signs of the journalist's death," Paul said in a televised interview.

For his part, Senator Lindsey Graham, that "the evidence of the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate of Riyadh in Istanbul , exceeds the lines that seem normal in the eyes of the international community."
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also asked the Saudi consulate officials toprove Khashoggi's exit by presenting video recordings. The Istanbul prosecutor announced an investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance.

Khashijji disappeared after entering his consulate in Istanbul on October 2, and his fiancée Khadija Genghis said that he accompanied him to the Saudi consulate building and that he entered the building and did not leave it. The consulate denied that, and said Khashoggi had visited but left later .

Khashoggi was the editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper. He also served as adviser to Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former Saudi ambassador to Washington, and left his country after Prince Mohammed bin Salman was appointed crown prince.

Khashoggi has been living in the United States for more than a year, writing articles in the Washington Post criticizing Saudi policies toward Qatar and Canada, the war in Yemen and dealing with the media and activists.
