The British Financial Times, published today, entitled "Saudi Arabia must be held accountable if Khashoggi's death is proved."
There are periods in history in which great leaders have found it necessary to condone some nasty crimes in order to maintain strategic alliances, but the alleged killing of Khashoggi is not one of those moments that allow for complacency.
The newspaper says the prominent Saudi journalist has not been seen since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul more than two weeks ago. The details leaked by Turkish officials to his death after entering the consulate headquarters in a manner of freezing blood in the details.
If the Turkish allegations are proven, the consequences must be dire, despite the strategic importance of Saudi Arabia, the paper said.

Any Western reaction must therefore be balanced so that Western countries would avoid harming themselves and force Saudi Arabia to change its behavior at the same time.
