    The Ministry of the Interior on Thursday set a date for the suspension of work on the identity of civil status and citizenship certificate after the transfer of the work of all civil status departments in the country this year to issue a unified national card. 
    The Director of National Card Affairs in the Ministry, Major General Nashat Ibrahim Al-Khafaji said in a statement, 'the orbit', that "the Directorate will stop working with the identity of civil status and citizenship certificate in 2020, having succeeded in converting all the main civil status departments in the centers of the country's provinces, National, as the number of departments converted by 215 departments. " 
    He stressed that his department "has given nearly nine million national cards to citizens in all regions of the country since the start of the project almost two years ago."
    Al-Khafaji stressed the intention of the Directorate to transfer all the remaining civil status departments in the country to offices to issue and grant the national card to the citizens, thus effectively ending the mechanism of dealing with old paper holdings by next year 2020 after all citizens of Iraq have been granted the unified national card, And the certificate of Iraqi nationality. " 

    He pointed out that "the Directorate has reached advanced stages of implementation of the unified national card project, which will work on completion of completion, to create a unified database for all citizens in the country, through the fingerprint of the eye or thumb or through a tape analysis of any part of his body in the {DNA} Genetics in case of death ".
