The foreign minister and his Jordanian counterpart are looking to stay away from the escalation decisions in the region

Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi the path of bilateral relations in Baghdad and Amman and means of boosting them between the two countries in the political, economic, security and other fields.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that the two ministers discussed the latest developments in the region as part of the ongoing consultations between the two countries on the latest developments in the situation.
He also stressed "the importance of concerted efforts to achieve stability in the region, and move away from the decisions of escalation, which negatively affect the efforts for peace and stability."
