    A member of the parliamentary energy committee, MP Jamal al-Muhammadawi, said on Wednesday that the decision of the Council of Ministers to approve the decisions of the Ministerial Council on energy taken on the settlement agreement for the contract between the company Leighton Offshore and the Basra Oil Company, does not exempt those involved in the scandal Ona Oil, The decision overlooks the fight against corruption and manipulation of public funds. 
    "The approval by the Council of Ministers of the agreement for the settlement of the contract between Leyton Offshore and Basra Oil Company is a decision taken by the Council of Ministers to resolve the financial matters and settle the matter, but this does not exempt those involved and those named in the scandal known as Una And the regulatory authorities to reopen the investigations again to get all those involved unjust punishment due to manipulation of public money. "
    He added that "all the previous government committees that were formed for the investigation, including the committee formed by the order of the former prime minister and the Commission of Integrity did not come out with real results reveal the threads of corruption in the case as well as the establishment of the prosecution," adding that "the settlement decision with the company Anti-corruption, especially as important figures mentioned in the report of Una Oil is still winding up its work in the Ministry of Oil. "
