    The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan al-Kaabi, said that the recent decisions to ban the import of some products "reflected negatively on the local product," pointing out that the  decisions of the organization of food imports aimed to urge the production sector to reach the stage of self-sufficiency. 
    Al-Kaabi chaired the extended meeting held by the Agriculture Committee of the Parliament headed by MP Salam Al-Shammari and the presence of Agriculture Minister Saleh Al-Hassani with representatives of the livestock sector to discuss the implications of the decision to stop the importation of some food products, especially Table eggs ".
    "As first Iraqis and as a legislative authority, we look at the private sector, which contributed to the food security of the Iraqi people, as part of the system that sacrificed their lives to achieve security for our country, both working in the same direction," al-Kaabi said during the meeting.
    He pointed out that "the recent decisions that dealt with the negative phenomenon of flooding the markets with goods and products reflected negatively on the domestic product, which has witnessed a serious decline, and here it is our duty as a legislative authority to enact laws that support the national product and the duty of the executive authority to implement these laws and work to protect the product, .
    During the meeting, according to the statement, "a comprehensive review of what has been achieved after the issuance of resolutions to prevent or legalize the entry of some agricultural products, especially table eggs, where the Minister of Agriculture that the decision contributed to increase poultry projects and increase production and the operation of more manpower to more than one million workers , And the approach to achieve self-sufficiency of this product in a few months, as well as the preservation of hard currency.
    The meeting concluded with "several recommendations, including the deliberate work among all sectors and the agreement on gradual steps to achieve food security."
